2019-2020 General School Policies

 

The 2019-2020 year runs from June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020. 

Waitlists: When programs reach capacity, a wait-list is activated. If a spot becomes available, we contact the Primary Parent immediately. If we do not receive a reply within 24 hours, the next person on the list is contacted. Payment is only processed if the spot is filled.

 

Cancellation of Lessons or Classes Due to Weather: CA may be open even when schools are closed due to weather conditions. Status will be posted on the CA website, FaceBook page and an outgoing message on the phone by 9am. 

Photo/Recording Release: CA occasionally records and/or photographs students for promotional purposes. Usage may include internal/external print or online purposes. It is our policy not to include names of children. Please contact CA Director by email if you do not agree to this release.

Nondiscrimination Policy: Creative Arts does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, nationality, ethnic origin, religious belief, gender, or sexual orientation in its employment practices or in the administration of its educational policies.

2019-2020 Private Lesson Policies

The 2019-2020 year runs from June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020. Private lessons may not be carried over from one year to the next.

 

Attendance Policy

Specific times are scheduled for each lesson, and regular attendance is expected. Students who arrive late cannot be guaranteed a full lesson. Please contact Creative Arts (CA) if student will be more than 10 minutes late for a lesson.

One make-up lesson per semester (with 16 lessons purchased) is allowed for a student absence. Any lessons missed beyond this are unexcused and forfeited. As a courtesy to our faculty, please give CA and/or your teacher 24 hr. notice for student absence. Make-up lessons are given at a mutually agreed upon time between the teacher and student. Makeup lessons missed by a student will not be made up.

Payment Plan Policies

Full Year Plan - 32 lessons

Late registration: The year charge will be prorated based on lessons left in year. Year Plan rates are available until 9/30/19, after which time Semester Plan rates apply.
Withdrawal Policy: Tuition is non-refundable, however:

  1. if email notice of withdrawal is received by CA Director before 8/1/19, 100% refund (minus registration fee) will be given.

  2. If email notice of withdrawal is received by CA Director by 12/1/19, a 50% refund (minus registration fee) will be given.

No refund will be given for lessons paid for but not yet taken. 

Semester Plan - 32 lessons divided into 2 payments

Late Registration: The current semester charge will be prorated based on lessons left in the semester.  Monthly Plan rates apply for students starting after 4/1/20.
Withdrawal Policy: The Semester Plan is still a commitment to the full school year (32 lessons). The account will be automatically charged for Payment 2 on 12/1/19 unless email notice of

  1. withdrawal or

  2. change in payment plan is emailed to CA Director by 12/1/19. After this date, Semester 2 tuition is non-refundable.

No refund will be given for lessons paid for but not yet taken. If payment is not received on time, lessons will be put on hold and the lesson time slot will be considered open. 

Monthly Plan - 32 lessons, 1st payment for 8 lessons, 6 payments for 4 lessons each

This account must have a credit card on file which will be automatically charged for Payments 2-7 on the 1st of the month starting on Oct 1, 2019.
Withdrawal Policy: Lessons may be halted at any time, however, 2 weeks email notice must be given to CA Director prior to the 1st of the month.
No refund will be given for lessons paid for but not yet taken. If payment is not received on time, lessons will be put on hold and the lesson time slot will be considered open. 

Introductory Plan - 8 lessons

No refund will be given for lessons paid for but not yet taken. No make-up lessons are given for student absence. This plan does not guarantee the scheduled lesson day/time to be available after lesson #8. This account may switch to a Monthly Plan if notice is emailed to the CA Director ASAP or to a Semester Plan if notice is emailed to CA Director before 12/1/19.

2019-2020 Group Class Policies

No make-ups or refunds for student absences in group classes or programs.

Creative Arts reserves the right to cancel a class if sufficient enrollment is not reached. In this case, a full refund of fee will be given to the registrants.

Fall, Winter and Spring Semester Group Classes

Withdrawal: The CA Director must receive an email concerning withdrawal.

  • If the withdrawal is prior to the 2nd class, a refund will be given minus the cost of the initial class and minus a $30 service fee.

  • If the withdrawal is at the same time as or after the 2nd class, no refund will be given.

 

2019-2020 School Vacation and Summer Program Policies

 

The 2019-2020 year runs from June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020.

School Vacation Weeks and Summer Group Classes or Programs

Withdrawal: The CA Director must receive an email concerning withdrawal. 

  • If cancellation is . . . 45 or More Calendar Days Before Program Start Date
    Refund Amount is: 100% of amount paid for class
    Service Fee is: $30

  • If cancellation is . . . 44 to 16 Calendar Days Before Program Start Date
    Refund Amount is: 50% of amount paid for class
    Service Fee is: $30

  • If cancellation is . . . 15 or Fewer Calendar Days Before Program Start Date
    Refund Amount is: No refund given.
    Student (or a sibling) may transfer to different class and must  pay difference in program cost.

 

What to Bring and Wear​

  • Half day students bring a water bottle and a peanut free snack. 

  • Full day includes a supervised lunch break. Students bring a water bottle, 2 small snacks and a lunch, all peanut free.

  • Bottled water and snacks are for sale in the office for $1 each.

  • No refridgeration is available; please pack suffient "blue ice" for food safety.

  • Weather permitting, we will go outside for snacks and lunch and stay in shady areas.

  • Students must wear closed toe shoes and clothing that can get painted, splotched and messy. No flip flops.

  • Students are not allowed to use phones or electronics during class. 

 

PLEASE NOTE: If your student has a food allergy or must have medication available during the program, please contact the office at 781-942-9600. The staff and faculty of Creative Arts can not give students medication of any kind.

Arrival and Departure Procedure

  • Classrooms open for students 5 minutes before program start.

  • Parents/caregivers must walk their student into and out of class.

  • Parents/caregivers must sign students in and out on the attendance sheet.

  • If your student is a walker or will be arriving or leaving with a person other than the primary parent, please send a note with your student.

  • If your student will arrive more than 15 minutes late, please call the office.

 

Extended Day 

Available during all school vacation and Summer program weeks. Care is a flat rate and includes all siblings. Registration is complete upon payment.

8am- to 9am $14

4pm to 5:30pm $20

  • Students of all programs are combined into one group.

  • An adult staff member or the Program Director is with the students at all times.

  • Activities may include art projects, games, puzzles, books, etc.  

  • Students may be dropped off and picked up in the CA office.

  • If you will pickup your student more than 15 minutes early or late, please call the office at 781-942-9600.
