Creative Music for Tots

Ages Infant to 6 with Parent/Caregiver

Share the joy of exploring music with your child by singing, listening, dancing and playing! You and your child will experience traditional songs and world music while developing a sense of rhythm, tempo, dynamics and instrumentation. Caregivers and children participate with diverse styles of music by using colorful scarves and streamers, percussion instruments, smiles, voices, clapping hands and jumping feet! One fee covers the whole family: siblings welcome!

Suzuki Beginnings for Violin

Ages 3 to 6 with Parent/Caregiver

(For students who are completely new to Suzuki Violin)

Designed for the young student and their parent/caregiver who are new to the instrument, we will use rhythm and pitch games, singing and listening in an engaging and nurturing environment. Also called a "Pre-Twinkle" class, students and their parents/caregivers learn basic techniques on the instrument.

Suzuki Group Violin

Ages 4 to 10

(For students who have taken Suzuki Beginnings for Violin or the equivalent)

Group classes, along with weekly private lessons, are an integral part of learning the violin and the Suzuki method. Building on what has been learned in private lessons, students experience the fun and social aspects of playing together! Besides playing engaging (and educational!) musical games we'll be playing arco and pizzicato with Twinkle rhythms and open-stringed songs. Advanced students will be given harmonies and leadership roles. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend the class to enrich their student's experience. Class runs 4 weeks.

Classical Guitar Ensemble

Ages 8+

This ensemble is for classical guitar players who can read music and are beyond beginner level. Classical repertoire is played finger-style (no strumming). Ensemble performs at least two times a year at a Performance Night. New members are welcome at any time during the semester for a pro-rated fee.
