We are a 501(c)(3) community arts school and have served the town of Reading, MA and the North Shore of Boston since 1978. We welcome students of all ages and abilities and offer private lessons and group classes in Theater, Music and Visual Arts year-round.

 

We are eager to hire an instructor who thrives on helping students discover their musical abilities and being part of a team that is passionate about music education within a well-established and rapidly growing nonprofit community arts school.

Qualifications for Creative Arts Music Teachers

  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in music) and a minimum of two years of teaching experience are preferred.

  • Availability to teach on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Saturday mornings. Our teaching days are Monday-Friday 1pm-8pm and Saturdays 8am-1pm.

  • The ability to teach multiple instruments, Suzuki teaching qualifications and higher education in music are welcome pluses.

  • Must be comfortable teaching students privately and in groups of all ages (especially 5 to 10) and abilities. A new area of need in our organization is teaching students with learning disabilities.

  • A passion to inspire students of all ages and abilities to develop their love of the instrument, theory skills and sight reading, performance confidence and general musicality.

  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with staff and fellow faculty to increase community visibility and enrollment through performances, external PR events, student recitals and open houses.

Visual Arts Instructor for February Vacation week mornings, February 20 and 21

Creative Arts seeks a Visual Arts Instructor for February vacation week mornings, February 20 and 21. Students are ages 6 to 12 and the workshop titles are to be determined. Each morning is 9am to 12pm. Examples of previous workshops are watercolor, printmaking, recycled animal sculptures and acrylic painting.

We are a 501(c)(3) community arts school and have served the town of Reading, MA and the North Shore of Boston since 1978. We welcome students of all ages and abilities and offer private lessons and group classes in Theater, Music and Visual Arts year-round.

The visual art program at Creative Arts is a non-competitive and nurturing environment with a focus on teaching foundations and personal expression through art. We have a sunny and well-stocked art studio with seating for up to 24 students, ample walls for display, and a year-end school event celebrating student work. Qualifications: 

  • The ideal candidate will have recent experience working with students ages 5-12, demonstrated curriculum development and classroom management skills. 

  • Must also have excellent communication skills and a willingness for collaboration. 

  • A M.F.A. in Arts Education is preferred and professional experience equivalent is acceptable.

  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with staff and fellow faculty to increase community visibility and enrollment through art displays, PR events and open houses.

Administrative Volunteer

Description:

We are starting an Office Volunteer Program and looking for an energetic and organized person who would like to learn the daily operations at a non-profit arts school and train other volunteers.

Duties will include recording registrations, answering phone calls, assist with distributing marketing emails and press releases and assisting with events, depending on the candidate's interest and abilities. 

Hours are flexible; we are hoping for a 4-6 hour a week committment.

Qualifications:

Some familiarity with a PC and these programs are a plus: Google Mail, Docs, Sheets or similiar programs; Constant Contact; social media including FaceBook and online calenders.

Experience in customer service, grant writing, marketing and experience in the arts through education, performing and/or production are a plus.

Candidates should be enthusiastic about collaboration, thrive in a creative environment and be a good communicator in writing and speech.
