Creative Arts Health Practice Guidelines

March 9, 2020 Update

Dear Creative Arts students and families,

Thank you for your help in keeping Creative Arts a healthy and happy experience. We want to assure you that we are continuing to work with the First Congregational Church of Reading (FCCR), our faculty, and each every family on this very important issue. We want to be proactive in educating and informing the Creative Arts community, and also working together with our towns, schools, and the Commonwealth to prevent the spread of illness.

Please let us know if you did not receive our Health Practices Guidelines (appears below) emailed and distributed to students last week. Additionally, we have received questions about what to do if you have visited a place where COVID-19 is occurring or have had close contact with someone who has it. Below is a summary from the Massachusetts Department of Health:

  • Depending on your likelihood of exposure, consider a "self-quarantine" in order to avoid contact with other people.

  • Monitor your health for 14 days after your last possible exposure. Watch for these signs and symptoms:

    • Fever

    • Coughing

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Other early symptoms could be chills, body aches, sore throat, headache, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, and runny nose.

  • If you develop any of these symptoms, call your healthcare provider.

  • Before going to your medical appointment, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about your possible exposure to COVID-19.

March 4, 2020 Update (Health Practices Guidelines)

Dear Creative Arts students and families,

We are reaching out to be proactive in preventing the spread of illness at Creative Arts. Many of these have been in place already, but with the information about COVID-19 in the news, we want to make sure parents and students are aware of our efforts, and how we can work together to prevent the spread of illness.

  • Please remember to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after your lesson or class. Additionally, alcohol-based hand sanitizers are available in all of our classrooms for use by students, teachers, and visitors.

  • Please stay home if you have had a fever of 100 or more within the last 24 hours. You can email or call us to cancel your class or lesson at or 781-942-9600.

  • If a student reports becoming ill or shows signs of flu-like illness, we will contact the parents or caregiver to pick them up immediately. Sick students will wait for pick up in an area away from other children or students.

  • Don’t forget to cover your coughs and sneezes!

Also, we are working to increase sanitization of things like high-touch surfaces such as door knobs, desks, and faucets.

These guidelines are in place for our faculty and staff as well. Creative Arts will contact you if your instructor is out due to illness.
