How We Became Creative Arts
In 1978 Judith O'Hare and a group of local parents, founded Creative arts. They saw a need for quality arts programming to the community and decided to make a change. Creative Arts programming started in the local elementary schools, with a mission to provide opportunities for a life-long desire for creative expression.
Over the next few years, programming expanded as the number of families served grew. To accommodate the expansion of aspiring artists of all disciplines and levels, Creative Arts relocated to our current home at the First Congregational Church, creating a thriving center for community arts education.
Today Creative Arts continues to be the center for arts in Reading and surrounding communities as we continue our mission of providing exceptional instruction in visual and performing arts to a diverse population of students of all ages and levels.
