  • Friday Student Gallery: Students show their work to family and friends in our weekly exhibition at 11:30 am for morning and 3:30 pm for afternoon programs.

  • Prices available on February 1.

  • Programs are Monday-Friday.

  • Full days are from 9am-4pm and include a 1-hour lunch break with staff and active playground ground games.

  • Half days are Morning, 9am-12pm or Afternoon, 1pm-4pm.

  • Programs are for students ages 5 - 12. Teen assistants are needed to assist and don't pay a fee.

  • Extended Day is available. Pre-registration is required and will open with program registration.

 

 

Summer 2020 Program Details​

 

What Students Bring and Wear

  • Half day students need to bring a water bottle and a peanut free snack. 

  • Full day students must bring a water bottle, 2 small snacks and a lunch, all peanut free.

  • Bottled water and snacks are for sale in the office for $1 each.

  • No refridgeration is available; please pack suffient "blue ice" for food safety.

  • If your student has a food allergy or must have medication available during the program, please contact the office at 781-942-9600.

  • Weather permitting, we will go outside for snacks and lunch and stay in shady areas.

  • Students must wear closed toe shoes and clothing that can get painted, splotched and messy. No flip flops.

  • Students are not allowed to use phones or electronics during class.

Arrival and Departure

  • Classrooms open for students 10 minutes before program start.

  • Parents/caregivers must walk their student into and out of class.

  • Parents/caregivers must sign students in and out on the attendance sheet.

  • If your student is a walker or will be arriving or leaving with a person other than the primary parent, please send a note with your student.

  • If your student will arrive more than 15 minutes late, please call the office.

 

Extended Day 

  • Pre-registration is required and will open with program registration.

  • Extended Day is available during February vacation week. These rates cover all siblings in a family and is a flat rate; coverage is not sold by the hour.
    8am-9am: $8 
    4pm-5:30pm: $16 

  • Students of all programs are combined into one group.

  • An adult staff member or the Program Director is with the students at all times.

  • Activities may include art projects, games, puzzles, books, etc.  

  • Students may be dropped off and picked up in the CA office or the Art Studio.

  • If you will pickup your student more than 15 minutes early or late, please call the office at 781-942-9600.

Art Program Faculty

Laura Root

Laura has a Masters in Teaching Art PreK-8 from Salem State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut. Laura has been teaching art to children since 2005 and has worked within the Arlington and Wakefield school systems. 

Kim Kolodzieczak

Kim has a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA and a MA in Teaching Art from Salem State University. She has had years of volunteer and teaching experience working in classroom settings with children from Kindergarten to middle school. 

"Working with children has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy helping children build confidence and feel successful."

David W. Kay

David has a BFA from the Mass College of Art where he studied with several prominent photographers. He and his wife started Boston’s Kingston Gallery and ran it for five years. His work has been published and exhibited. In addition to his fine arts prints, he has an extensive portfolio of industrial products and jewelry/craft photography. He is an active member of the Arts Collaborative of Wakefield and he has a studio at Porter Mill Studios in Beverly.
