Drawing and Painting for Teens

For ages 13-18

July 8-12

Students learned how to create perspective, shade subjects and compose drawings plus how to mix paint for the right color. Watercolor and acrylic painting techniques were also covered as they moved through the session's projects.

Teen Art Program Faculty

Photography Week 

For ages 13-18

July 15-19

The class addressed aesthetic photography principles as they related to composition, space, exposure, light and color. Students completed daily assignments in the afternoons and brought in prints the next day for constructive criticism. All types of cameras were welcomed, including phones.

Kim Kolodzieczak

Kim has a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA and a MA in Teaching Art from Salem State University. She has had years of volunteer and teaching experience working in classroom settings with children from Kindergarten to middle school. 

"Working with children has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy helping children build confidence and feel successful."

Portfolio Art Intensive Week

For ages 13-18

July 22 to 26

Experienced art students focused on the elements + principles of design through observational drawing and a variety of materials + mediums. Portfolio preparation and presentation was explored throughout the course.

David W. Kay

David has a BFA from the Mass College of Art where he studied with several prominent photographers. He and his wife started Boston’s Kingston Gallery and ran it for five years. His work has been published and exhibited. In addition to his fine arts prints, he has an extensive portfolio of industrial products and jewelry/craft photography. He is an active member of the Arts Collaborative of Wakefield and he has a studio at Porter Mill Studios in Beverly.
